Important information about travelling to Germany.

How to get here

Travelling by train

You can  find all the information you need about travelling by Deutsche Bahn at www.bahn.de

Selected long-distance and regional trains as well as regional trains RE2 from Metronom and RE10 from erixx stop directly at the "Hannover Messe/Laatzen" trade fair station during AGRITECHNICA. From there it is a 5-minute walk to the West 1 entrance.

FlixTrain also offers train connections to Hanover. Some train connections take you directly to the fair train station Laatzen or to the Hanover main train station. FlixBus may be a good travel option as well.

If you are travelling from Hanover Central Station, you can reach the exhibition grounds (North Entrance) in 20 minutes by taking tram line 8 or E (intensifier). At the main station, follow the blue signs marked "U". Alternatively, you can take the S-Bahn S4 to the exhibition grounds (Hannover Messe/ Laatzen).

For the timetable and further information please visit ÜSTRA.

The admission ticket to AGRITECHNICA is not a KombiTicket for free travel on local public transport. However, Verkehrsverbund Großraum-Verkehr Hannover (GVH) will offer tickets for exhibitors and permanent visitors from the first to the last day of the trade fair via the mobility shop or the GVH app. Further information will follow.

>> Detailed information and navigation aid

Please use the recommended navigation system - NUNAV App

For cars:

  • Simply download the NUNAV app to your mobile phone for free. Instead of an address, enter AGRITECHNICA.

For bus companies:

  • The NUNAV Bus app transmits traffic corridors and individual journey recommendations directly to bus companies. Every user of the NUNAV Bus app receives a personalised driving recommendation that is always coordinated with all other road users. This actively avoids traffic jams.

Visa Informationen

  • A visitor visa for attending the trade show should be applied for no earlier than six months and no later than four weeks before the start of your journey. However, in many cases, the responsible German embassy or consulate will take longer than four weeks to process the application and issue a visa. Please plan accordingly.
  • Information on the visa procedure, requirements for issuance, visa fees, and application forms can be found on the website of the Federal Foreign Office as well as on the websites of the respective embassies and consulates in your home country.
  • Since 2013, the Federal Foreign Office has informed visa offices of German embassies and consulates worldwide that, in general, no invitation letter from the trade fair organizer is required to apply for a trade fair visa for both visitors and exhibitors (see: AUMA website). Please refer to this information when applying for your visa, if necessary.
  • DLG Service GmbH, as the organizer of the trade fair, assumes no legal and/or financial responsibility in connection with your visit to the fair. For this reason, general invitation letters from the trade fair organizer are usually not helpful. This is in contrast to business trips, for which a specific German business partner might coordinate and finance your trip.
  • Exhibitors usually require a confirmation of their paid stand registration instead of an invitation letter, and in many cases they also do not have to pay the visa fee (see website of the Federal Foreign Office).
