Accreditation regulations for media representatives at DLG exhibitions

Media representative accreditation for the purpose of journalistic reporting on DLG exhibitions is geared to the recommendations issued by the Association of the German Trade Fair Industry (AUMA) outlined below.

By way of accreditation, DLG e.V. wishes to make it easier for journalists to access information about DLG events and about DLG the organisation. Accreditation is granted solely for the purpose of enabling journalistic reporting and is valid for the duration of the given event.

Press accreditation may be issued to:

  1. Holders of a valid press ID card issued by a press association, either German or foreign, without any thematic link to the given line of industry.
  2. Holders of a valid press ID card issued by a trade journalists’ association, either German or foreign, that has a thematic link to the trade fair in question.
  3. Persons from Germany or abroad who can provide evidence of their journalistic (or photojournalistic) activities by:
  • a) presenting original copies of bylined articles which are not older than six months at the time of the event concerned,
  • b) presenting original copies of a masthead/imprint, naming the person as editor, or as a permanent member of the editorial staff or as author and which are not older than six months at the time of the event concerned,
  • c) presenting an original copy of a written editorial job assignment for the trade fair concerned,
  • d) providing a web link to an online publication which has been written by the person seeking accreditation and which is well established within the respective trade fair community. In such cases, pre-accreditation is necessary due to the increased amount of work involved in the verification process,
  • e) submitting proof, not more than six months old, that the individual works for school-student publications, or by submitting a valid press ID card issued by a youth press organisation.

Furthermore, DLG e.V. reserves the right to conduct further investigations to establish proof of journalistic activities, even on presentation of a press ID card. Proof of accreditation must be submitted in German or English. In individual cases, DLG reserves the right to request presentation of valid photographic ID. There is no entitlement to accreditation. If necessary DLG will enforce its pertinent rights.

We request that all media representatives comply with these regulations and that they apply for accreditation in good time prior to the trade-fair event. You can access the online accreditation form directly via the press pages on the website for the given event. Here you will also find any special regulations pertaining to the given event that differ from the general guidelines.

Important information:

The technical facilities and services available at the press centre on site, most particularly PCs, fax machines etc., are provided exclusively for the purpose of reporting on the event for which the journalist has accreditation. DLG reserves the right to demand documentary evidence of this reporting. In the event of improper use, DLG may ban the journalist from using the press centre’s services. Furthermore, DLG also reserves the right to withdraw accreditation for the event from the journalist in question. DLG reserves the right to demand verification of journalistic activity in the form of an attestation from the editorial office or bylined articles etc. If such documentation is not presented or if it fails to conform to the accreditation guidelines, DLG may refuse to grant accreditation. There is no entitlement to accreditation. DLG reserves the right to enforce its pertinent rights in all matters of accreditation.
